I found this website to be informative especially the following sections:

Bloom’s taxonomy and English language learners
Communicating with Gestures
How long does it take to learn English?

Each of these sections had useful information that I would use in the classroom. I love the fact that the information written is highly detailed. Thanks for this website.

In this site I read the link titled Getting Started with English Language Learners: How Educators Can Meet the Challenge. It mentioned a book that is useful for teachers of ELL students. It also mentioned the idea of using differeintiated instruction to teach students. This is a very important concept. Every student is unique and has their own way of learning. In one of my education classes I did a research assignment. This book also discusses the stages of language acquisition which was also mentioned in the website used for our big assignment. This book is an excellent tool for ELL teachers. I also looked at the link titled Graphic Organizers for Content Instruction. We as teachers are encouraged to use things such as venn diagrams and graphic organizers because they help students to comprehend the information. They help to promote active learning. They also help students develop higher level thinking skills and promote creativity. One of our goals in teaching our English language learners is to help them summarize and interpret text and these tools help us to achieve those goals. The last link I looked at listed some excellent websites for preschool teachers to use. These sites are designed to teach basic concepts to native English speakers but lessons can be adapted for ELLs.
