Name Games

Learning student’s names can be a difficult task for a teacher. Especially when there are 23-25 students in a classroom. My strategy for learning student’s name is by using "name games." I found this website that as some games that can be used for learning students names. The website is http://www.residentassistant.com/games/namegames.htm

Thank you for that website, Anu. Because I had 150 students during my junior field, I felt like it was impossible for me to learn all of their names in only 3 weeks. During one of my first days at the high school, I dedicated a whole class period to playing circle games. Besides telling me their names, the students shared facts about themselves. I found this to be very helpful and a great way to learn their names.

I really enjoyed that website! It was a great way to learn new ways to remember names. At the day care I work at we do a silly song, "Busy Busy Bubblebee Wont You Say you name for me." There was no way I was going to sing that infront of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. At the end of 3 weeks, I still did not know all of their names. I will use that website to help me in the future.
